Raghava Lawrence’s ‘Shivalinga’ event held in Hyderabad

Raghava Lawrence and Ritika Singh are going to be seen together in a Telugu-Tamil film, ‘Shivalinga’, directed by P Vasu. The shooting of the same is all done but for one song. Produced by Abhishek Films in Telugu, this is a remake of a Kannada movie by same name, which ran for 100 days in 75 theaters. At a press meet held today in Hyderabad, the unit members spoke to the media:

P Vasu said, “‘Aaptha Mitra’, which was a big Kannada hit, was remade into Tamil and dubbed into Telugu as ‘Chandramukhi’. Once again, a similar thing is happening after many years. Raghava Lawrence has acted in a more gutsy way than he did in ‘Kanchana’ and ‘Kanchana-2’. Vadivelu and my son Shakthi Vasu are playing important roles in this movie.”

Ravichandran, the producer of the Tamil version, said, “‘Shivalinga’ was a sensational hit in Kannada. We are confident that this film will be a bigger hit in Telugu and Tamil.”

Producer Ramesh P Pillai said, “I hope this film in the combination of Lawrence and P Vasu will be a big hit.”

Shakti Vasu said, “I played a key role in the Kannada version of this movie. I was received well by the audience. I have done some movies in Kannada and Tamil. This is my first one in Telugu. I am doing a key role once again.”

Cinematographer Sarvesh Murari said, “Since they loved my work for ‘Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva’ (Kannada remake of ‘Pataas’), they roped me in as this movie’s cinematographer. ‘Shivalinga’ will be a bigger hit than ‘Chandramukhi’.”

Ritika Singh said, “I thank the producer for giving me the opportunity to work with talented people like P Vasu garu, Lawrence, Thaman and Sarvesh Murari.”

SS Thaman says, “‘Kanchana’ and ‘Kanchana-2’ in our combination were a big hit. So will be ‘Shiva Linga’. All the six songs have come out very well.”

Raghava Lawrence said, “‘Kanchana’ was a big hit. ‘Ganga’ was an even bigger hit. When I was thinking that I should do a bigger hit than ‘Ganga’, Vasu garu asked me to watch ‘Shivalinga’. I liked it a lot. I agreed to acting in the movie. The story is the first hero of ‘Shivalinga’. Ritika Singh is the second hero. Shakthi Vasu is the third and I am the fourth hero. Ritika will get the kind of good name that Jyothika got after ‘Chandramukhi’. I was thrilled on watching her performance in the interval block. As for Vasu garu, I am happy to have acted under the direction of someone who directed my favourite hero Rajinikanth.”

Radha Ravi, Jayaprakash, Pradeep Rawat and others are part of the cast. Cinematography is by Sarvesh Murari. Music is by Thaman. Lyrics are by Ramajogayya Sastry. Art direction is by Durairaj. Stunts are by Anal Arasu and Dinesh. Editing is by Suresh.

The audio will be out in the first week of Dec. The film will hit the screens in January next.
