Producer Allu Aravind has issued a clarification regarding his recent comments on Ram Charan, stating that they were not intentional and reaffirming that Charan is like a son to him. Speaking at a press meet addressing the piracy issue surrounding Thandel, he explained the context behind his remarks and acknowledged that he should have been more careful with his words.
“In recent days, I have been widely trolled for my comments, which you are all aware of. During a previous press meet, a senior journalist asked me about it, but I avoided responding as it was not the right setting. However, I want to clarify this now. While inviting Dil Raju to the stage that day, I spoke about the struggles he faced, including financial losses and income tax raids, and made those remarks in that flow. It was not intentional, but I later realized that it hurt many Mega fans,” Aravind said.
Emphasizing his close relationship with Charan, he added, “Ram Charan is like a son to me. He is my only nephew, and I am his only uncle. We share a strong bond. I misspoke, and I regret not phrasing it differently. I request everyone to move on from this issue.”
The controversy arose after Allu Aravind, at the Thandel pre-release event, commented that Dil Raju had “pulled down one film (Game Changer) and pushed up another (Sankranthiki Vastunnam), faced income tax scrutiny, and dealt with multiple challenges in a week.” Additionally, in another interview, he stated that Charan’s debut film Chirutha had performed averagely, while Magadheera, which he produced, became a blockbuster. Following backlash from Mega fans, Aravind addressed the issue publicly, urging an end to the controversy.
