Kangana Ranaut’s self-directed film Emergency, based on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s political journey and the events surrounding the declaration of a state of emergency, was released in theaters on January 17 after multiple delays. Despite high expectations, the film received a mixed response at the box office.
In a recent Instagram update, Kangana announced that Emergency will soon be available on an OTT platform, with Netflix scheduled to stream the film starting March 17.
In the film, Kangana portrays Indira Gandhi, while Anupam Kher appears as Jayaprakash Narayan and Shreyas Talpade plays the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Although produced on a budget of Rs. 60 crores, industry estimates suggest that the film has earned only around Rs. 21 crores at the box office.
