Samachara Bharati Cultural Association organised “Kakatiya Film Festival”, a short film festival on the theme “Ek Bharat, Samaras Bharat” on 17 December 2016 at Sarathi Studios, Ameerpet, Hyderabad and awarded the prizes to best short movies.
Speaking at the award ceremony, the chief guest Sri Raj Kandukuri garu said that his recent film “Pelli Choopulu” was directed by an erstwhile short film director Sri Arun Bhaskar. He mentioned that he plans to introduce atleast one short film maker per year into mainstream movies. He congratulated the organisers of Samachara Bharati for the efforts in organising the Kakatiya Film Festival.
The Chief speaker Dr.Annadanam Subramaniam garu, Jt.Secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh spoke about the extremely important role that Short film makers have in spreading positive thoughts, ideas and building a positive Bharat.
The jury members Sri Allani Sridhar, Sri Shekkar Suri, Sri Sumanth Paranji and Sri Vinay Varma, gave their valuable suggestion and inputs on film making to the aspiring film makers.
Over 120 participants attended this event and were given an opportunity to interact with the jury.

Movie titled ‘Behind the Smile’ that subtly dealt with problems faced by girl students due to lack of toilets in schools directed by M. Shankar Raju won the first prize
Sri Shiv Kumar bagged the second prize for ‘Gurukulam’ that highlighted the importance of application of education rather than mere marks oriented education.
Sri Durga Prasad Chinni won third prize for heart touching portrayal of a dumb man working as a chaiwala who saves tips earned to support education of poor children in his village. A short film, Rythu, in which a student despite being highly qualified chooses to become a farmer won accolades from jury and bagged special prize.Another short film Addilu received special accolades from the jury.
