Ekkadiki Pothaavu Chinnavada” – Movie Review

The movie starts with a scene going on in 2012 where Arjun( Nikhil) was in a hurry for his exam. He was in a hurry for his marriage and completes his exam early. Now the first song ‘Pancha kattu supero superu’ which is a good number. As he is waiting in the registrar office for his lady, love Ayesha for the marriage. But after waiting for a long time he calls her and there is no response the other side. So his heart breaks and leaves from there. Now the story comes to the present in 2016. Now here enters Kishore ( vennela Kishore) Arjun’s friend brother in a mental hospital. They come there for the treatment of Kishore. After that, Arjun and Kishore go to Kerala who performs the rituals to capture the ghosts. There Arjun meets Amala( Heebah Patel). They both become good friends, and Arjun also falls in love with her. After the completion of the rituals for Kishore Arjun comes to know that Amala left early morning. She introduces herself as Amala from Vijayawada and so on their second meet. Arjun returns to Hyderabad and thinking about Amala he rides to Vijayawada and inquiries about Amala. There Tanikella Bharani says that Amala is her daughter, but he also says that the pic which was shown by Arjun was not his daughter. Now the interval bang becomes so interesting and is a good episode. Coming to the second half everything the suspense elements in the first half will be revealed slowly,  which you should watch on the screen. What is this whole story about and who is Amala and where this story leads us to, Everything you need to watch it on the big screen .

Performances:-

Nikhil:- After a big failure Nikhil took his time and made a good decision on choosing this script. He is good at these type of scripts where previously he succeeded in the movie Karthikeya. His comedy timing is nice and some good emotions. He tried his best what he could do for the movie to be successful.

Heebah Patel:- Though her screen presence is good but in her acting we can see the shades of Kumari 21f in some scenes. She acted with that type of nature and with the same dubbing artist it reminds us of her previous movies. So overall her acting is OK but she was not suitable in that character. But some scenes were attracted to youth because of her glamour.

Nanditha Swetha:- Though she is a debutant in tollywood she is a well known actress in kollywood. She started her career with a Kannada movie and present her career is running in Tamil movies. She acted well as she is an experienced actress. In the second half of the film she shares the screen mostly with Nikhil and has got some scope if acting. She did justice to her role.

Vennela Kishore comedy is nice and he created the humour in the first half of the movie. Praveen also has role in the first half but his part is just OK. Another comedian Satya who played the role of Nikhil’s friend has generated the comedy in the second half of the movie in the horror comedy scenes.

Tanikella Bharani and Annapurna were given the guest roles.

Technical aspects:-

Direction:- Director Vi Anand previously directed the movie Tiger starring Sundeep Kishan which is a failure. Now he comes with the concept of horror comedy genre and some suspense and thrilling elements. Most of the part he was successful in driving the movie. As the script was written by himself he made the movie with good comic scenes and came with some interesting concept. Overall he made the film to be watchable with some loops and with the simple climax. As Vi Anand is a Tamilian he made Nanditha to play the ghost character which his decision became plus for the movie.

Music:- Shekar Chandra was known for us for good melodies and some good musical hits especially for Ravibabu movies. In this movie also he gave a good music. Two songs are good. Background score is also good. Music is helpful for the movie and Shekar has played his part well. Music is a plus for the movie.

Dop:- Sai Sriram was the cinematographer for this movie. All the scenes were shot good mainly in the first half of the film the locations were really beautiful in Kerala. The song which was shot there has some good scenery and beautiful locations too.

Dialogues by Abburi Ravi are good. Every conversation is simple and clear.

The production values are good. And the movie came out well.

What’s good:-

In this movie the concept is good. The actors played their part well. The direction is also good. The music is a plus for the movie. The comedians generated good comedy not only in the first half but also in the second half too. Nikhils performance helps the movie. Nandita swetha also played her role very nice and she helped the second half. Director and the script work is good.

What’s bad:-

Some of the scenes in the first half and the conversations between Heebah and Nitin are not good. The second half is a little bit clumpsy with slow narration. The climax was simple and its over just like that.

The movie could have been still better if the second half is narrated with fast screenplay. As the movie is going on with some enthusiasm what would happen till the climax it is just completed in a single way. It also a good way if the audience doesn’t expect much from the movie. In the first half some scenes must be edited as they are not much helpful for the movie.
