Khaidi No 150 – Movie Review

After a gap of ten years now, Megastar is back with his 150th film Khaidi no 150. With many expectations let’s see what happened.

Story: –

Movie starts with a chasing scene where Kathi Seenu( Chiranjeevi) escapes from the Kolkata jail and goes to Hyderabad. There he meets Malli(Ali)and plans to go Bangkok. In the airport, he sees Laksmi(Kajal) and falls in love with her. So Seenu cancels his Bangkok tour for his love. Now suddenly when Kathi Seenu and Ali are Walking on a flyover they hear the bullet sound when they got down they will be surprised that the person who was shot will be looking same as Seenu, and immediately they admit him to the hospital. When Seenu comes to know that police came after him then exchanges his ID with another person Shankar ( Chiranjeevi) and shifts to the nursing home where Shankar use to live. There Seenu acts himself as Shankar and lives there only. Now Seenu gets a call from a corporate owner Agarwal( Tarun Arora), offering him money to get the sign on some documents. Seenu accepts his proposal. But after reaching nursing home, he attends a meeting and come to know the whole story of Shankar and realizes his mistake and refuses the offer of Agarwal. Soon the police capture Shankar thinking him as Seenu. Now Seenu takes charge as Shankar and tries to solve the whole problems of the village Neeroru. How he solved it and what are the consequences he faced should be watched on the big screen only.

Performances:-

Chiranjeevi: Sankranti- Megastar Chiranjeevi is back with a blast. No doubt why we used to call him as No1 contender of tollywood. About his performance nothing to say but one word outstanding. His acting, comedy timing, fights and his natural grace in dances each and everything in the movie is excellent. ISankranti a big treat for mega fans. His attitude as Kathi Seenu reminds of early 90’s Chiru styles. The grace in his dance is still in his blood. Even at this age he managed to do as he previously used to do. We can say that Boss is really back with a blasting performance. And as Shankar he played really quite with a very low attitude as a hydrology student who tries to save his village lands from the corporate companies. About Megastar there is nothing we can say but only a treat to watch him on the screen after 10 years.

Kajal Agarwal:- She did the role of Lakshmi whose grandfather lives in the old age home of Shankar. Mostly she has no scope for acting but only for the songs she appears and goes. Her beauty and glamour didnt do any magic it flattered in front of chiru.

Tarun Arora: – He did the role of a Corporate owner Agarwal who tries to buy the lands from farmers by killing them to construct his own factory. He is ok in his character and has given the performance what the character needed.

The other actors Ali has done his job as Malli friend of Kathi Seenu and Brahmanandam also has created some laughs and its good to see him not with over dialogues and the chemistry between Chiru and Brahmi is same as usual. Posani also has created some humour but he has a very little character. The other actors who performed has dine their jobs to what they needed.

Technical Aspects:-
Director: what- VV.Vinayak is the manager of the movie. Though it is a remake of the Tamil movie Kathi, Vinayak hasn’t made many changes and made the whole concept to be as the original. But after his failure with, Akhil he came with a good comeback by directing Chiru 150th movie. Now after watching this, we can say that Vinayak is back with his commercial elements. He narrated the story in such a way that in every frame you can have that you wanted and not missing the main concept of the movie. Murgadoss stories are always with good concepts and Vinayak knows how to handle it with not disturbing the originality of the movie.

Music:- Rockstar DSP is a big plus for the movie as he has given the awesome audio for Megastar once again. The background score is also good but it resembles the Tamil version of Anirudh who was the music director of Tamil movie Kathi. But overall Devi has done excellent job in making the music as a good dance numbers .

DOP:- Rathnavelu is the cinematographer for this movie. He did a good job and has done complete justice to his work. Each and every frame of Chiru appearance is awesome and really nice. Not only him but all the locations shot in the songs are picturized really nice.
Production: – Ram Charan as a debut producer of the movie has not compromised in anything. He has such confidence in his father and V.V.Vinayak. The production values are high, nd the film looks rich in every aspect.

Dialogues:- Sai Madhav Burra has written some good dialogues and Vema reddy also contributed him. Paruchuri Brothers also supported well for the movie. Some of the dialogues in the preclimax scene narrates about the present situations of the land reforms. Most of the dialogues are based on farmers and their difficulties in their lives.

What’s good:-

The good thing in the movie is the one man Megastar Chiranjeevi. His all round performance thrills the audiences with excitement. His fights and dances mesmerizes anyone. Its a one man show. Direction is also good Vinayak has did what he had to do to make all audiences to watch the film. Devi Sri Prasad has given awesome music and good background score. Choreographers did their justice for the songs. Specially in Sundari song you can watch Chiru with his old style and grace. Ram Charan’s special appearance in Ammadu song is treat to watch both of them dancing. Ram Lakshman and Kanal Kannan fights are good and suited for Chiranjeevi.

What’s bad:-

The first half of the story is a little bit slowly narrated as the main story plot did not enter till before the interval. Kajal is used only for the songs and nothing much she adds to the movie. Shankar character is not much elevated compared to the Tamil version.

How it should have been made:
As the Tamil version is a hit, everyone who watched in Tamil will compare this remake with the original version. Some emotional scenes should have been shot well in the flashback of Shankar. His character should have been a little more as his role is the heart of the movie. Kajal could have been better and should have been more beautiful but it didn’t go that way. Vinayak should have made some changes according to our nativity most of the movie is just a copy paste.

Final verdict:-

This is a big treat for mega fans for this sankranti. Really boss is back with a tremendous approach. He knows what audience wants from him and gave up to what he can. Those who missed Chiranjeevi these years can enjoy after watching it. So finally Megastar has proved once again that he is the tollywood boss. You can enjoy the movie with your family as it is a movie with good concept as well as a commercial entertainer.
