Actress Hansika Motwani has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking to quash a domestic violence case registered against her. The case, which also names her mother, was filed following a complaint by her brother’s wife.
A division bench comprising Justice Sarang Kotwal and Justice S.M. Modak has issued notices to Hansika’s sister-in-law and adjourned the hearing to July 3.
Hansika’s brother, Prashant Motwani, married television actress Muskaan James in 2020. However, citing personal differences, they decided to separate in 2022. Subsequently, Muskaan filed a complaint under the Domestic Violence Act against Prashant, Hansika, and their mother, Jyothi.
In February 2025, the Mumbai Sessions Court granted anticipatory bail to Hansika and her mother. The actress has now moved the High Court, seeking the case’s dismissal.
