Tollywood trade is betting big on Sankranti 2025 as like every year because all releases collect phenomenal revenues during the biggest festival season in Telugu States. This year, Ram Charan’s Game Changer, Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaj and Venkatesh’s Sankranti ki Vastunnam have been lined up for the festival.
While Game Changer and Sankranti ki Vastunnam have managed to grab adequate attention due to the strong promotional campaign including impressive songs and promising teasers, Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaj is struggling to create buzz and compete with both these films.
Though the first teaser with mass visuals and action-packed elements created a solid impact for Daaku Maharaj, the film still needs better content to pull the audiences to theatres. While Game Changer boasts and star-studded cast and huge canvas, the genre of Sankranti ki Vastunnam will be sufficient to create hype. So, the team of Daaku Maharaj needs to up the ante and come up with strong promotions to challenge both these films.
The first song failed to gain any traction. The team is now planning to organise three big promotional events to generate significant buzz on the film. Director Bobby Kolli is known for dishing out formulaic masala entertainers and projects Daaku Maharaj as his career best work than Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya.
If Bobby and Balayya can strike a chord with mass audiences, the film will have a dream run during the week-long festival. But, they will first need to generate solid buzz to stay in the contention. It now depends on how well they cut the trailer. It should hit the bulls eye.
Payal Rajput, Prakash Raj and Bobby Deol will appear in prominent roles in this action entertainer. Sithara Entertainments Banner is the production unit behind this film.
