Revanth Reddy Sends Strong Message to MLAs | CineChitram

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has warned party MLAs sternly to stay away from lobbying for cabinet positions and instead work towards giving results to the people. At the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting conducted at Novotel in Shamshabad, the CM stressed that the Congress high command has already made decisions on ministerial appointments and any more speculation would only damage the concerned.

Revanth had complained against MP Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy, reportedly for advancing the names of some leaders in relation to cabinet slots. Terming it as counterproductive, he warned party people against indulging in such a practice, which he said might result in individual setbacks and impair party cohesion.

The Chief Minister also expressed worry over MLAs spending too little time in constituencies. He condemned what he termed as “weekend-only politics” and emphasized the necessity of round-the-clock contact with grassroots masses. In order to improve the people-government interface, he instructed all MLAs to undertake constituency tours between April 16 and June 2, actively publicizing the government’s welfare schemes and accomplishments.

One of the schemes listed was the Sanna Biyyam (fine rice) program, which Revanth stated is getting huge amounts of positive feedback from the public. He ordered lawmakers to see to it that such effective schemes touch every household and strike a chord with the masses.

To ensure smooth development work, Revanth asked MLAs to list pending or important works in their constituencies. He promised that the government would act quickly to meet those requirements. He also promised to meet MLAs individually to solve their individual problems and ensure better coordination.

Although the agenda of the meeting was not made public, it was evident that Revanth’s mind was on reaching the public, governance, and party discipline, and not internal power politics.

In a firm and clear message, Revanth Reddy indicated that the people always come first, not positions of authority.
