Suriya’s much-anticipated film Kanguva, which was slated for release on October 10, 2024, has been delayed. The postponement is due to Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan also being scheduled for the same day. Directed by Siruthai Siva, Kanguva will now be released at a later date.
Suriya officially revealed the delay of Kanguva during the audio launch for Karthi’s Meiyazhagan. He honored Rajinikanth as a towering figure in Tamil cinema and noted that releasing both Kanguva and Vettaiyan on the same day would not be suitable.
Suriya likened Kanguva to a beloved child, with many dedicated individuals having put their heart and soul into its creation. He urged the public to understand the delay and continue supporting the film when it eventually premieres. As Kanguva is officially delayed to avoid competing with Vettaiyan, a new release date will be announced shortly.
The film stars Disha Patani opposite Suriya in the lead role, with Bobby Deol as the main antagonist. Produced by Studio Green and UV Creations, the soundtrack is composed by Devi Sri Prasad.
