Ganesh shared that Vijay, a huge fan of Bhagavanth Kesari, was so impressed by the film that he watched it five times. Vijay expressed his desire to remake it in Tamil and even approached the original director, Anil Ravipudi. However, Ravipudi did not agree to direct the Tamil version, and despite several directors approaching Vijay with their take on the film, he waited for the right one to bring his vision to life.
