Happening starlet Sree Leela did only a handful of films in Telugu but attained popularity on par with top-league heroines down South because of her alluring and glamourous apperance and impeccable dancing skills. She is just in her 20s and set sights on going places in the coming years given her soaring craze among moviegoers. 

For an upcoming actress who is just starting to enter a key phase in her career, appearing in an item song at such a tender age can turn out to be a dampner and limit her rise to stardom due to several reasons. Primarily because moviegoers will no longer view her as a typical commercial heroine once they watch her in item songs. 

No actress appeared in item songs at such an early age and then went on to become big stars. Also, directors and producers will have inhibitions to cast her as the leading lady once she sizzles in item numbers. So, it came as a big surprise to everyone when Sree Leela signed the dotted line to shake a leg with Allu Arjun in a foot-tapping item number in Pushpa 2. 

What made Sree Leela take the brave decision to feature in an item song at the very beginning of her career ? There appears to be two main reasons that influenced her big decision. 

Firstly, Sree Leela seems to have fallen in the trap because of the unprecedented hype surrounding Pushpa 2. She seized the opportunity as featuring in such a massive pan-India project would expand her craze beyond Telugu states. Moreover, she is already aware of the hysteria generated by the item song in the first part and how the Samantha’s fame rose after its release. 

Secondly, the staggering remuneration for a few days of call sheets. The Guntur Kaaram actress is said to be laughing all the way to bank with a whopping sum in the range of 2-3 Crores for this item song which is equal to her salary if she acts as a heroine in a full length role. 

Whether this brave decision augurs well for her career ? Only time will tell.
