The Income Tax Department gave a big jolt to Tollywood by conducting raids on the offices and houses of notable producers like Dil Raju and Mythri Movie Makers. In the last four days, several IT teams ransacked different places and verified documents and money transactions of these producers.
Producer Dil Raju reacted on these sudden raids for the first time this Saturday morning. He addressed a press meet in Hyderabad just a while ago to clarify on the ongoing media reports regarding these raids. Many media houses and online portals have been claiming that IT department has found irregularities in money transactions and also seized some crucial documents during these raids.
Dil Raju categorically scotched these reports and claimed that the IT raids are a common ritual on business persons. He said the IT department raided their places after 16 years and didn’t find any discrepancies in financial records. He also clarified that he didn’t purchase any asset in the last five years and not a single rupee of unaccounted money was found during the raids.
Dil Raju said less than 20 lakhs liquid cash was found collectively from his residence, daughter’s house and other places belonging to him. He clarified that necessary documents were produced to the officials about the authenticity of this cash. He also refuted news about flow of black money in Tollywood. He said all his accounts are clean and no irregularities were noticed.
